10 Simple Home Energy Saving Tips
How to Save Energy-Top 10 Tips
In recent years energy costs have reached the point where many people are almost paying as much for energy as they do for housing. Energy bills of $200 to over $300 are not uncommon. Obviously many people are wondering how to save energy and money. High energy bills can put a significant dent in any household budget. Heating and cooling costs easily account for the greater part of any monthly energy bill. If you are wondering how to save energy and money here are the top 10 tips for saving energy. All of these can be done immediately and the results will be apparent on your next energy bill.
Unplug those appliances Television sets, VCR’s, computers, cell phone chargers, stereos, and game consoles all use electricity while in stand by mode. Use a power strip for these appliances and turn it off when these items are not in use.
Set your thermostat Set your thermostat to 60-70 degrees in winter and 76-78 degrees in the summer. Heating and cooling are the biggest items on any energy bill.
Turn down the hot water heater Set the thermostat on your water heater to 120 degrees or to the ‘normal’ setting found on most water heaters.
Wash full loads This applies to both clothes and dishes. Use cold water for clothes and allow the dishes to air dry. Many people wondering how to save energy overlook this simple action.
Use energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs This is a great way to save significant amounts of energy. The typical energy efficient light bulb will save $30 dollars in energy costs over the life of the bulb.
Check your home for drafts and air leaks Check for drafts and seal cracks and gaps that waste energy. This is a very cost effective to save energy and could cut energy bills by 10% or more.
Take showers instead of baths Showers use a lot less water than baths. If possible install a low flow shower head. This will cut down on the costs associated with heating water.
Clean furnace and air conditioner filters Changing the filters on heating and air conditioning units will help them to function more efficiently and cut down on maintenance costs.
Use ceiling fans in the winter Hot air rises and ceiling fans can help to circulate warm air. Ceiling fans use a lot less electricity than furnaces and will help to cut down heating costs.
Use the sun’s energy Closing drapes and curtains in the summer will cut down on cooling costs and in the winter use the sun’s energy on sunny days to help heat rooms. The use of passive solar energy is often overlooked by those wondering how to save energy.
While this is by no means a comprehensive list these 10 simple easy steps can be taken by anyone and will result in significant savings. Rising energy costs have most of us wondering how to save energy. If you need further instructions on how to save energy a comprehensive guide can be found here.

Electric Magnetic Energy
If you have been keeping current on research into alternative energy solutions, no doubt you have encountered discussion of perpetual motion machines. Perpetual motion machines are applications that once set it motion will run indefinitely or forever without a need for fueling or electric input. At one time, infinite motion machines were the stuff of scifi. Folks thought them to be a fantasy of wild eyed inventors. No longer. In the new millennium, billions of dollars have been channeled into research and development of perpetual motion machines
If you remember anything from the high school physics book, you will know about magnets and their properties. This whole arrangement of the magnetic energy motor is based on this one fact that magnets have poles and like poles repel. This robust magnetic field that’s made using the magnetic energy motor provides plenty of energy to hand which can be converted to electric energy awfully simply.
Some of the advantages of this leading edge energy system include :
Extraordinarily low set up cost of $100 or less and will pay for itself in less than 2 months.
Does not employ ordinary fuels to run, thus there are no harmful emissions.
Very easy to follow set up instructions that even a total amateur can build it.
No batteries or inverters are required.
Doesn’t need a bright or gusty day to operate and does work in any climate.
terribly safe so that even little children can safely play near and around it.
Occupies very little space in the home.
Key parts of handmade MPGs are strong permanent magnets. Macroscopic magnetic field of an enduring magnet is alleged to be sustained by the zero-point energy field. Therefore , unreservedly available zero-point energy seem to be a sustaining energy source for the m.p.g we are building. As permanent magnet motors and generators become commercialised, it will not be a mystery as to where the energy originates from. 8 Quick Tips for Everyday Energy Savings at Home
8 Quick & Easy Tips to Free Up Money and Conserve Energy at Home With daily expenses mounting up each and every month, here are 8 simple ways to cut energy consumption and lower your bills. And best of all, these tips do not require any investment to cut back. It’s something you can do starting today!
Here are 8 Quick & Easy Tips to Free Up Money with Everyday Home Energy:
1. Wash your clothes with cold water. This will cut back on your gas/electric bill and simultaneously extend the wear of your clothes.
2. Use the clothes dryer to lightly dry clothes (rather than fully drying them) By laying out clothes to dry, or hanging clothes damp out of the washer to dry naturally, you can cut back on your electric/gas bill extensively. Many clothes that are dried (either through hanging or laying flat) will also cut back on ironing and extend the wear. Designate one day per week (if possible) to do laundry and cut back the time in the dryer. This will significantly free up your money.
3. Use power surge protector strips and plug in electrical devices. When you leave home, turn the power surge protector strips off. This ensures all the electrical devices are completely shut off (items do experience energy leakage when plugged into the outlet).
4. Substitute your old light bulbs with Low-Energy compact fluorescent lights. This can reduce your lighting bill by up to 75%.
5. Allow sunlight to pour into the rooms during the day using hardly any electrical light. Most rooms can be lit naturally. Create the habit to use as little electrical light during the day as possible.
6. Keep doors closed and use proper weather stripping. Weather stripping on doors (as well as windows) provide extra insulation as the temperature changes. It is also a natural way to keep pests out.
7.Use a small economic space heater instead of heating the entire house. This can be utilized efficiently if you are occupying one small space for an extended period. Be sure to turn the space heater on low, close the door, and only use the heat source when necessary.
8. Plan activities outside the home during the day. Turn down that water heater! If you have a tank water heater (which most people do) turn it down so that the water isn’t constantly being reheated when it isn’t in use. This reduces bills and wasted energy.
Make the most out of every dollar, and turn those freed-up dollars into money leveraging.

IS Nuclear Power The Way Forward?
Many people think that using Nuclear power is going to do some the world good by reducing C02 emissions but this is simply not true. So what are the arguments for and against?
There Is Not A Chance Of Spillage
There are also ever decreasing chances of a leak ever happening simply because of inventions like measurement level. This will tell them when the waste is getting to the point where it could potentially leak out and will set of an alarm. Accidents are simply not going to happen because there will always be someone on site.
Does Is Actually Help?
One of the things that needs to be asked here is, do we really need to rely on nuclear power at all? The real fact is that a mere 4% of all of out power in the UK comes from nuclear means, is there not another way we could get this power? Greenpeace and other similar organisations will of course say that we can use great renewable energy sources like the sun, wind and tides, is this a good thing though? Wind turbines are very noisy and are a bit eyesore but the main thing is that they are better than nuclear power that’s for sure. Is it really the first thing we want people to see when flying into the country?
They should not allow any more nuclear plants to open but I do not see why they should even bother trying to close the current ones they have all of the solids level switch and ultrasonic level controls that they need and for a disaster to happen the government would be in deep, deep trouble so I am almost certain that will not happen.
More plants will actually mean the country is more open to be hit by terrorists and a nuclear meltdown could kill hundreds of people.

Top 10 Ways to Save Energy
We have all seen energy costs rise in recent years. Most experts predict that energy costs will keep rising significantly in the future. During the current recession most of us are looking for ways to cut costs and save money and believe it or not there are some very simple actions that can be taken to start saving both energy and money right away. All of these simple actions will result in immediate savings that will be seen on the next electric of gas bill.
1.Lower the water heater temperature Heating water for washing clothes and showering and bathing uses a lot of energy. By simply lowering the water heater temperature to around 120 degrees you will save a lot of energy. Every few months drain a bucket of water from the water heater. This removes sediment that can interfere with the energy efficiency of the water heater.
2. Use power strips Computers, televisions, cell phone chargers, DVD players and stereos in stand by mode use significant amounts of power. By plugging these appliances into a power strip you can prevent stand by modes from using energy unnecessarily.
3. Set Your Thermostat Install a programmable thermostat and set it for comfortable heating and cooling levels. Most energy experts recommend 60-70 degrees for winter and 70 to 80 degrees in the summer.
4. Turn off Computers and Monitors Turn off both the computer and monitor when they are not being used. Most computers have a power save option. Use it.
5. Wash Clothes in Cold Water Wash full loads and use cold water whenever possible. Cold water is actually better for most clothing. Using cold water can save in excess of $60 a year and is a great way to save energy.
6. Install Energy Efficient Fluorescent Light Bulbs Using bulbs with the EnergyStar label can save a lot of energy and money. A typical fluorescent bulb will save about $30 dollars over the life of the bulb. Multiply that by the number of bulbs in use and the savings can be amazing.
7. Air Dry Dishes and Clothes Always wash a full load. Once the wash cycle is finished open the dishwasher door and allow the air to dry the dishes.
8. Take Showers Instead of Baths Showers use less water than baths. Take short showers whenever possible.
9. Change the Shower head An older shower head that uses 5 gallons of water a minute will use 55,000 gallon of water in a year’s time. Newer shower heads use half as much water and can save 25,000 gallons of water a year. Cutting back on hot water usage is one of the easiest ways to save energy.
10.Replace Furnace and Air Conditioning Filters This is one of the quickest ways to save energy. Clogged filters reduce the energy efficiency of furnaces and air conditioning units.
By following this simple list, you will see immediate results on next month’s energy bill. While the list is by no means complete these are things any homeowner or apartment dweller can take to save energy and money right away.
